Although Scorpions Motorcycle Club doesn't dawn a 1% patch on the colors (their patch reads 100%er) they held the only one percenter presence in Dallas through a lot of the ''70s, '80s and '90s. As other friendly one percenters re-appeared, the clubs peacefully and cooperatively co-exist.
In the first '90s, Scorpion Zig Zag (a Baptist preacher's son) re-connected together with his lost faith through prison ministries while serving a Federal stretch. During that period, he struggled while using proven fact that he couldn't possibly 'serve two masters'. As far as religious protocol went, he'd be asked to set down his Scorpion patch, turn his back on his club brothers and walk away from them if he would truly serve God. You know, the suit and tie gig could be required.

This was truly hurting his heart, because after over twenty years with his club brothers, the type of love and trust forged between members is a thing few citizens ever hold the possiblity to witness, not to mention experience in their lives. It's the kind of life-preserving love a father or mother has for their child. How could he desert the brothers he'd always be ready to lay his life down for?
Then someone asked him “Are you sufficiently strong enough to be with things Christians should avoid rather than participate?”
An emphatic “Yes!” was his answer.
“Then go to your brothers and tell them the same thing you've said. Tell them you won't want to leave them or turn your back on them. Describe in their mind just how much you like them and Jesus loves them; that you want and also hardwearing . patch and serve them his or her Chaplain.” was the advice.
The rest is history. Zig Zag and the wife Susan have built a ministry such as the church (DVO Ministries) and 15 recovery houses (Angel's Recovery Houses) which speaks volumes to religious minds that thought this may never happen.
The church is located at 9888 Ferguson Rd, corner of Oates and Ferguson, Suite 155. Sunday worship services start at 10:30AM and 6:30PM. Throughout the week, there exists rarely per night there isn't something taking place with this address. They have NA meetings twice a week (Narcotics Anonymous), Overcomers (Christian 12 step program), Wing-it (per night when everyone brings a covered dish, then shares issues they've been blessed with or being affected by) and others activities.
Hey! Staying busy with friends, good support and good food causes it to be harder for you to screw up. With everything available here, should you ruin, it's not a major accident - actually need a conscious, premeditated decision to make it happen.
